David Travis was born in 1987. With his new album, he brings together the New Wave and Power Pop sounds of the early part of that decade and the late 1970s, ratcheting up the tempos to create songs that throw in the blender Elvis Costello's raw effervescence, the pop of The Cars and the aggression embodied by The Ramones and The Clash. Tuneful harmonies illuminate witty, humorous lyrics that play with universal themes of desire and nostalgia while bringing to life poignant characters, whose ramshackle lives may have started in the Eighties but are blasting out your speakers today.
A twenty-five-year veteran of guitar-driven music, David Travis has fronted power pop and punk bands as well as strummed in Americana, indie and garage rock groups while touring the east coast. He is based in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area of North Carolina.
